What is Sin? Sin is the Transgression of Yahweh’s Law

The Book of Yahweh – the most accurate translation of the Bible available today – clarifies that the Great Law of Yahweh was never done away with, as many religions claim.
Bible passage, sidenotes taken from The Book of Yahweh, The Holy Scriptures page 878, a House of Yahweh publication

Romans 7:1-12
1 Now are you ignorant, brothers (for I speak to the ones who know the Law), that the Law has authority over a man as long as he lives?
2 For the woman who has a living husband has been bound by the Law to her husband; but if her husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband.
3 So then, if she marries another man while her husband is still alive, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is released from that Law, and is not an adulteress, even though she marries another man.
4 In the same way, my brothers, through the body of Messiah, you were buried by baptism into the law, that you might belong to a different One, to Him Who was raised from the dead, that you might bear fruit to Yahweh!
5 For when we were in the flesh; our mere physical lives, the longing to transgress the Law which is to be kept, did constantly work in our members, that we might bear fruit unto death.
6 But we are now freed from the death penalty of the Law in which we were held fast; that we might serve in the newness of the Spirit, not abolishing that which was written in the Law and the Prophets.
7 What? Can anyone therefore say that the Law is sin? No! By no means! But to the contrary, I did not know sin; transgression of the Law, except through the Law, for I did not know lust, unless the Law had said: Do not covet.
8 But sin, taking opportunity through the commandments, produced in me every kind of covetous desire. For apart from the Law, sin is dead.
9 For once I was alive apart from the Law; but when the commandments came, sin came to life and I died.
10 And I found the very commandments that were intended to bring life, actually brought death.
11 For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandments, deceived me, and by it killed me.
12 Therefore, the Law is holy, and the commandments are holy, and just, and righteous.

Verse 6death penalty
Greek apothanontes. Traditionally translated “that being dead”. A Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament by Gingrich and Danker, Page 91, shows this word is correctly translated death penalty.

Verse 6not abolishing
Greek palaiotetai. Traditionally translated “old”. The Analytical Greek Lexicon by Harper, page 299, shows this word is correctly translated to abrogate (abolish).

17 Do not even think that I have come to destroy the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to destroy them, but to establish them.
18 For truly I say to you; Unless heaven and earth passes away, one yodh—the smallest of the letters—will in no way pass from the Law, until all things are perfected.
19 Whosoever, therefore, will break one of the least of these Laws, and will teach men so, he will be called the least in the Kingdom of Yahweh; but whosoever will do and teach them, the same will be called great in the Kingdom of Yahweh.

Verse 6written in the Law and the Prophets
Greek grammatos. Traditionally translated “old written word”. The Analytical Greek Lexicon by Harper, page 82, shows this word is correctly translated the sacred books of the Old Testament, that is, that which is written in the law and the Prophets. Gesenius’ Hebrew and Chaldee Lexicon by Edward Robinson, page 732, shows this same Greek word grammatos as written in Romans 7:6 is the Greek translation of the original Hebrew word saphar, which not only means the Law and the Prophets, but the entire Book of Yahweh, from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22: 21. See also Isayah 34:16 and Daniyl 9:2

Verse 7Law is sin? No! By no means!
The breaking of the Law of Yahweh is sin. I Yahchanan 3:4
4 Whoever commits sin, transgresses also the Law; for sin is the transgression of the Law.

Verse 8for apart from the Law, sin is dead
How? We are dead and buried.
Romans 6:1-4

1 What shall we say, then? Should we go on sinning, so that mercy and pardon may abound?
2 By no means! How can we, who have died to sin, live in it any longer?
3 Or are you ignorant of the fact that as many of us as were baptized into Yahshua Messiah were baptized into His death?
4 Therefore, we are buried with Him by baptism into death; in order that, just as Messiah was raised from the dead through the plan of the Father, we, also, may walk in newness of life.

Verse 12the Law is holy
W2 … It springs from, and partakes of, the holy nature of Yahweh; it is completely just and right in itself; it is designed wholly for the benefit of man.
